Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
I am Lela Simon, a Nationally Certified Counselor based in Salisbury. I focus on adults navigating ADHD, autism, chronic illness, and complicated family dynamics. My own experiences with chronic pain, a late ADHD diagnosis, and emotionally immature parents shape my validating, trauma-informed style. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness in ways that fit real lives, not ideal schedules.
Lived experience and specialized training guide my work with neurodivergent, chronically ill adults seeking respectful, practical therapy.
I offer adult-focused counseling in Salisbury, grounded in real knowledge of Delmarva life and resources.
Telehealth, evening appointments, and a calm office support fluctuating energy, pain, and executive function.
I combine LCPC and NCC credentials with personal ADHD, chronic pain, and family experience for nuanced support.
My career began in behavior analysis, which taught me how neurodivergent brains process the world. However, some traditional approaches did not feel entirely respectful to the individual.
Managing lifelong chronic pain and receiving my own ADHD diagnosis at age forty-two completely shifted my perspective. I transitioned into outpatient clinical counseling to build the gentle, validating space I always wanted for myself.
Today, I guide adults who often feel left behind by traditional mental health systems. I walk safely beside individuals navigating ADHD, autism, complex family patterns, and chronic health conditions.
Using trauma-informed mindfulness and acceptance tools, we will collaborate to build a peaceful daily rhythm. Every session moves strictly at a pace that respects and honors your unique nervous system.
